If you have a list of employees in excel sheet, you can enter the whole member at once with a little modification.
Make an employee list in the form of the attached excel sheet, run CoolManager, and import the excel file to CoolManager in the following orders.
- Click on this link to create excel template with employee information.
- Run CoolMessenger server and click file- Import data- Excel in order.
- Find the excel sheet with employee list and connect it to CoolMessenger.
- Match fields with common values, then press “apply” button.
- Make sure that the data were successfully imported, than enter the remaining information.
If the server computer where CoolManager is installed on has a private IP or different bandwidth with its client IP, users cannot log into CoolMessenger. Normally, the private IP is only used within networks. That is why if the server is installed on the private IP, a CoolMessenger client with different IP bandwidth is not able to be connected to the server.
In this case, the administrator can change the server IP to a public IP or map the private IP. Unfortunately, CoolMessenger Support Team does not support IP setting or its related queries. Please, contact your corporate network administrator.
1. Changing password
1. Run CoolManager.
2. Go to [Manage Organization Chart] → [Edit Organization Chart] → Double-click on the Password field and enter a new password.
3. After changing the password, click Save button.
4. Users can change their own password on the client.
2. Existing ID cannot be modified.
Administrator has to delete the existing ID and add a new ID.
Yes, an user can be located in any locations on the contact list. For example, if you are working in two different project groups, your name can be listed under each group. In order to do this, the administrator has to edit the contact list at CoolManager.
Go to [Manage Orgnization chart] - [Edit organization chart] and add groups and users.
If a client fails to log into after a change in the server IP address has been made, please conduct ping test on the client computer.
1. Go to [Start] - [Run] on Windows.
2. Enter CMD and press Enter.
3. On the MS-Dos screen, enter “ping (server address) –t.”
(Example ping 211.232.88.*** -t)
Normal: If “Reply from 211.232.88~” message comes up, CoolMessenger can login.
Error: If “Request timed out” message comes up, you need to contact your network administrator.
If the IP address of the server computer has been changed, the new server address has to be entered on the CoolMessenger client. If the CoolMessenger client fails to connect to the server after entering the new address, please confirm that the Windows Firewall has been turned off.
Solution -1 Server computer where CoolManager is installed on has a private IP.
If the server computer where CoolManager is installed on has a private IP or has a different bandwidth with the client IP, the user cannot log into CoolMessenger. Please check the server IP.
Private IP is an IP address that can only be used within the network. Therefore if the server is installed on a private IP, CoolMessenger clients that have different IP bandwidth cannot connect to the server.
Example) Server IP is set as 172.16.23.**.
Group A: 172.16.23.** - Users who have A bandwidth can login to CoolMessenger.
Group B: 192.168.32.** - Users who have B bandwidth cannot login to CoolMessenger.
In this case, the administrator can change the server IP to a public IP or map the private IP. CoolMessenger Customer Support does not support IP setting related inquiries. Please contact your corporate network administrator.
Solution – 2 Server computer does not connect to the internet.
CoolMessenger is an internet based messenger program. If the server is not connected to the internet, CoolMessenger clients will also fail to connect to the server. You would have to contact your internet provider.
In that case, you are advised to check up on the following matters.
1) check if the server network connection is ok.
2) If Firewall is in activation, open port number from 32051 to 32057. The corresponding port numbers should be open for CoolMessenger to be activated.
